"What Matters Most to Me" Facebook App
from the LIFE Foundation
Just like every month in the life of a mom, September is full of milestones and special moments. From first-day-of-school photos to Labor Day barbecues, these are the moments that we'll cherish forever. September is also Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM), which is the perfect time to think about protecting the most important people in our lives.
While life insurance might not be top-of-mind for most moms, we can all agree that it offers peace of mind and helps ensure that the life we've worked so hard to achieve for our loved ones won't disappear if something were to happen to us. The LIFE Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping consumers make smart insurance decisions, recognizes that it's hard to imagine the unimaginable.
That's why they have created the new Facebook Application called "What Matters Most to Me" and are sponsoring a contest around it during September.
The "What Matters Most to Me" App allows us to indulge in our love of sharing photos and memories with our family and friends. In a matter of minutes, the App helps you easily create a multimedia slideshow - pictures, captions and music! - showcasing the important people and things in your life. When you create and post your multimedia masterpiece on Facebook through September 30, you are eligible to win a trip to Aruba, where the winner and one guest will spend five days enjoying the white sands and blue waters in this tropical paradise, and relaxing at the Radisson Resort, Casino & Spa.
And don't forget to show off your slideshow and make a difference in the process! For every friend on Facebook who indicates that they "like" your slideshow, $1 will be donated to Comfort Zone Camp, the nation's largest bereavement camp serving children who've lost a parent, sibling or primary caregiver.
"Disclosure: I was entered for a chance to win a gift card from The LIFE Foundation in writing this post. No monetary exchange took place. The opinions and ideas expressed are my own."

Electrolux , Kelly Ripa - Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
As Moms, we pull a lot of things together, from weekday meals to our little ones' back-to-school wardrobes. However, usually what suffers is our own wardrobe, as we pull wrinkled garments over our heads to make it out the door on time! Luckily, our favorite Mom/Brand team is getting together to show women everywhere how to go from rumpled to runway.
Electrolux and brand ambassador Kelly Ripa are partnering with some fashion-savvy bloggers to host a special fashion show to help raise awareness and funds to support ovarian cancer research.
Since September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, this fashion-focused event couldn't have come at a better time! This fun and innovative fashion show will demonstrate how Perfect Steam™, and a little fashion ingenuity, can take any garments from "Rumpled to Runway".
Even if you're not in the Big Apple to watch in person, you can cheer them on LIVE at www.Kelly-Confidential.com TODAY at 1 PM EDT. You can also follow along at Facebook/KellyConfidential and on Twitter @KCbyElectrolux.
Find out how you can help support the cause at Kelly Confidential and enter for a chance to win a daily shopping spree and the grand prize: a Perfect Steam™ washer and dryer from Electrolux.
Note: I've been entered for a chance to win a gift as part of the Electrolux program, thanks to MomSelect.

Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity - Review
Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity - just finished them... omgosh, long books - roughly 400 pages each lol GREAT reads though!
Ink Exchange, - WOW I have really been into tattoos (don't have any) but I'm fascinated with them, this scared the dickens out of me with them though... Leslie, gets one and it turns out to be nothing of what she expected, she slashed into Aislinns world and her fate is twist and turns, you learn more of the fairie world and how things really work, how involved humans are... how they are used.
Unbeknownst to mortals, a power struggle is unfolding in a world of shadows and danger. After centuries of stability, the balance among the Faery Court has altered, and Irial, ruler of the Dark Court, is battling to hold his rebellious and newly vulnerable fey together. If he fails, bloodshed and brutality will follow.
Seventeen-year-old Leslie knows nothing of faeries or their intrigues. When she is attracted to an eerily beautiful tattoo of eyes and wings, all she knows is that she has to have it, convinced it is a tangible symbol of changes she desperately craves for her own life. The tattoo does bring changes—not the kind Leslie has dreamed of, but sinister, compelling changes that are more than symbolic. Those changes will bind Leslie and Irial together, drawing Leslie deeper and deeper into the faery world, unable to resist its allures, and helpless to withstand its perils. . . .
Fragile Eternity, - I could get through this book fast enough lol - I kinda knew where it was going but it was definitely deceiving in parts - I really thought Sorcha was going to be a 'love' interest, not what she ended up being - Can't say much without giving it away. Fantastic book!
Seth never expected he would want to settle down with anyone—but that was before Aislinn. She is everything he'd ever dreamed of, and he wants to be with her forever. Forever takes on new meaning, though, when your girlfriend is an immortal faery queen.
Aislinn never expected to rule the very creatures who'd always terrified her—but that was before Keenan. He stole her mortality to make her a monarch, and now she faces challenges and enticements beyond any she'd ever imagined. In Melissa Marr's third mesmerizing tale of Faerie, Seth and Aislinn struggle to stay true to themselves and each other in a milieu of shadowy rules and shifting allegiances, where old friends become new enemies and one wrong move could plunge the Earth into chaos.
~~The next book is Radiant Shadows and I have to pull it out of the closet tonight :) Hoping to get it read this weekend while doing some computer work :)

Barbie - A Fashion Fairytale - Review
I've got to admit, its been a bit to watch a barbie show in detail - I think all us moms do the routine of dishes, laundry and such while the movies playing and watch as we go - this time I sat down, took notes and really paid attention to the story line.
At first I was surprised - Barbie is really grown up! Cell phones, facebook, twitter... she's working on a movie set, gets fired and is upset about all the negative comments in the press. Then Ken breaks up with her! She decides to go to Aunt Millicents to get away - in Paris no less! lol - the story gets better, the glitter, fashion and graphics really holds the kids attentions from here on out and it held mine as well. Millicents old design studio - is really old - it holds an ancient secret cupboard that has flairies (yes FLAIRies - no wings!) that can enhance any design that's deamed worthy. (so the kids see that you have to put something into it to make it worth the magic) - they have to plan, design and make dresses for a fashion show to help buy back the studio - cause if the studio is destroyed, the Flairies loose their magic... I won't tell you how it ends but you know its good, and yes you see Ken at the end... and it's all horse drawn carriages, princesses and castles at the end... keep watching the credits for more scenes to pop up!
It's cute - worth the price and like every Barbie video has a good lesson to learn for real life... just glittafied lol
The movie is released Sept 14th - this coming Tuesday!! It's also a good length movie too - 79 minutes long.
Join Barbie™ in a colorful, modern-day fairytale filled with fashion, friends and fun! Barbie™ and her dog, Sequin™, jet off to visit her aunt’s amazing fashion house in Paris, and much to her surprise it’s about to be shut down forever. After she discovers three enchanting Flairies™ with sparkle-magic powers, Barbie™ comes up with a brilliant idea to save the business. She even inspires Alice, a shy fashion designer, and together they create a dazzling runway fashion show. Barbie™ shows that magic happens when you believe in yourself.

Venom and Song Review
I had a tough time transitioning into this book - been reading vampires and out of this world books too long lol. This one is more Sci Fi and reminds me of the Lord of the Rings. It does have it suspense, keeps you on the edge of your seat. For a young adult book I really did like it and it would be a great read for anyone - my suggestion is to read book 1 (Curse of the Spider King) first lol - I jumped into book 2, was able to pick up very easily.
Now in the strange realm of Allyra, the Seven young lords confront a traitor in their midst, a creature-infested forest, teenage fears and doubts, inexplicable mysteries - and the Spider King himself. In a rigorous training program that makes boot camp look like Disneyland, the Seven must quickly learn to harness their own powers, work as one, and elude the Spider King's spies. But as the ancient Berinfell Prophecies are revealed, the Seven soon discover their training might not be enough.
To stop the Spider King they must also unravel the secrets of the Rainsong, travel to a creepy, trap-infested fortress to find the legendary keystone, and lead the Berinfell Elves in an attack on the Spider King's own turf. An epic adventure with powerful messages about true strength, forgiveness, and working together as one body that will grab the attention of intermediate listeners.
Note : I was given this book to read through BookSneeze for free - all opinions are my own :)Posted by Amy Serpe at 5:11 PM 0 comments

Make Your Own Blissful Body Mist Kit
Make Your Own Blissful Body Mist Science Kit - Science Kit for Girls" Scientific Explorer has recently released new Make Your Own Blissful Body Mist and Make Your Own Lovely Lip Balm Kits (Manufacturer's Site). Recommended for ages 8 and up, these kits teach science lessons while girls craft their own cosmetics.
Body mists are a splash of fragrance for the skin. Not as strong-smelling as colognes or perfumes, they leave a light aroma on your skin. They also provide much-needed moisture, which helps keep your skin feeling cool and refreshed. With this kit, you'll get to design your very own body mists, discover your favorite scents and learn all about the science of smell.
Includes body mist base, pink dye and fragrance, green dye and fragrance, yellow dye and fragrance, sequins, and activity guide.
Love this for kids - inexpensive fun for just $9.99! Instructions that offer tidbits of scientific fact, making it educationally fun. The smells were not overpowering no matter how much they put into the containers. We followed the one set of instructions - put a couple drops in, see how it reacts, watch it every 3 mins (we set the timer) and see how it reacts - see how strong the color is with how much more you add. It was really neat (even for me lol) - the kids added the sparkle to one container, it doesn't come out its just for looks but its neat to see. Now they all smell sweet :)
Note: this kit was sent to me by TeamMom for free to review, the opinions are totally my own.

Linger (Wolves of Mercy Fall trilogy)
I just got done reading Linger... It takes a turn in the book I wasn't expecting, a couple of them. Sams human now, no long changing to a wolf. Grace - comes to a head with her parents, her love with Sam grows - her body starts changing and in the end something major occurs. Kind of odd how she 'knows' whats happening to her body even though she doesn't want to admit it, and its not what your thinking! There's more wolves, Cole and Victor are two of them - both tormented, Cole more so - you learn about his lives and why he CHOSE to be a wolf. The book ends on a cliffhanger - now I'm dying for the next book... sometimes I like cliffhangers, sometimes I like a smooth endings. Fantastically written!
In Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past…and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves…and is nonetheless drawn to Cole. At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love–the light and the dark, the warm and the cold–in a way you will never forget.

Hexbug Nano LIVE
Here's a professional video before you see ours lol
The kids had a ball setting this up - they used everything possible (they followed the largest design on the box) and then did whatever when adding the bridge extension. 4 nanos and ohhh boy did they rock n roll
This is our one minute kid free video - too many bodies and hands to really see it otherwise lol - we start at the bridge battle - then the entire set up - its huge!! - then close ups of the little buggers running wild.
I do not see any issues than loosing track of them in the house LOL
Easy set up - so easy to snap together and they really really held together - I was able to pick it up and place it on the table with no issues of it falling apart.
The walls are high enough that the nanos can't get out - we placed the bridge over the two big octagons so if they fell off they fell into the design below (great thinking Moms!!)
LOVE the off switch on the bottom!!
My camera died but I'm hoping we can get a picture up with the kids :)
I give this 2 thumbs up - I know alot of moms don't like the thought of 'bugs' but even the shy ones got a kick out of the little buggers :)
